$ man autocat autoshaper

is it safe?

both are open source, so anyone can read what they do. every download here is checked against github's sha-256 for the release, and you can compare it yourself on the project page. autocat's only network request is an update check that sends nothing about you, and its logs stay on your machine.

why does windows smartscreen warn me?

they aren't code-signed (certificates cost a lot for a hobby project), so windows doesn't recognize them. click More info, then Run anyway, or compare the checksum on the project page first.

my antivirus flagged it

automation tools work with another program while it runs, which is what antivirus heuristics look for, so false positives happen. autocat 1.2.0 reworked some internals to trigger fewer of them. report it to your antivirus vendor as a false positive, or read the source on github.

does it work on mac or linux?

no, both are windows only.

is this allowed by the games?

they're unofficial tools, not affiliated with the games' developers. autocat automates in-game actions and never touches your steam inventory or the game's files. autoshaper plays normal runs and stops at the achievement score caps, so leaderboards stay fair. use them at your own discretion.

where are my settings and logs?

autocat keeps them in Documents\AutoCat, autoshaper in Documents\AutoShaper.

how do i update?

close the tool (and bongo cat, for autocat), replace the old exe and start it again. autocat keeps your settings and shows a notice in its footer when a new release is out.

i found a bug

open an issue on github for autocat or autoshaper. attach the latest log too: right-click the status bar in the app to open them.

$ man cmkat.com

can i link to your site?

please do. the 88×31 button and its copy-paste html are on the materials page.

can i use parts of your site?

yes, most of what i built for it is on the materials page, free for personal sites.

how is this site made?

hand-written html, css and a little javascript, no frameworks. the rest is on ./about.

where's the music from?

the deck on the home page streams through soundcloud's own player. no music is hosted here.
